Introduction
Data for Crisis is a A data-driven solution supporting media development, Data for Crisis is an open data platform designed to support data journalism practices where journalists, media practitioners, researchers, and media outlets can benefit simultaneously. It is a place to find, analyze, and investigate data to gain insights about marginalized communities in times of crisis. The Data for Crisis Initiative was developed by SocialLab in cooperation with Deutsche Welle Akademie and supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It provides interested users access to raw and aggregat- ed data from Social Media on specific topics and specific communities (i.e. migration, pandemic, ..)

Target Audience
The “Data for Crisis” platform targets journalists, researchers and humanitarian practitioners who need more data and insights for effective reporting and interventions. Refugee community representatives, migrants communities as well as the hosting communities can also use the platform to collect the facts they need to advocate for the needs and issues relevant to them.
